This is a photo I took of Glynis, our family cat who died today. We got her when I was 16. I named her because I was in love with the Smashing Pumpkins’ song ‘Glynis’ on the No Alternative compilation. When I chose the name, my mom said, “That’s such a strange name, Ashley. Why would you want to name a cat Glynis?” I don’t think I’ve told very many people that.
